Artistic statement
Mallar’s pictorial practice is rooted in a life experience shaped by resilience, family responsibilities, and the daily proximity to her non-verbal autistic son. This reality has developed in the artist a sensitivity to invisible tensions, inhabited silences, and fragile balances.
Through contemporary abstraction, Mallar transforms this lived experience into a visual language. Dense masses translate emotional weight and the strength required to endure, while open spaces become recovered breaths. Breakthroughs of light evoke hope and clarity emerging at the heart of hardship.
Vertical structures embody stability under pressure, while centripetal forms express contained energy and inner intensity. Her palette combines deep blues, earth tones, ochres, and accents of burnt orange — moving between silence, grounding, and vital momentum.
Through material, layering, and gesture, Mallar transforms lived tension into pictorial presence.
She develops this practice with the intention of building a lasting artistic career and collaborating with recognized professional galleries in order to expand the reach of her work throughout Québec, Canada, and internationally.
